Rose Munyasia
With a rich blend of academic excellence, professional discipline, and hands-on experience, Rose has distinguished herself as a dynamic and versatile data and IT professional in the humanitarian and development sectors. My career hallmark is a solid track record in health data management and IT support across major international organizations, most notably the International Organization for Migration (IOM). What sets me apart is my seamless ability to bridge the gap between technical expertise and data-driven decision-making, while maintaining a high level of conscientiousness, integrity, and service to humanity.
Until recently, Rose served as a Regional Travel Health Data Assistant at IOM, where she provided end-to-end support in health data processing and analytics across multiple countries. She worked closely with medical and IT teams to ensure effective system integration, user support, data validation, and the generation of reports that inform migration health programs. Her role was both technical and collaborative, requiring constant adaptation, precision, and a deep understanding of information systems such as MiMOSA, eMedical, and HAPSTAT Power BI.
The recent position was the culmination of a progressive journey that began with a Bachelorโs degree in information technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, followed by Cisco certification in networking, and advanced into various IT and data roles in both the public and private sectors. Along the way, I have held positions as an ICT tutor, IT support specialist, and data assistant, steadily gaining experience in both technical implementation and data governance. In July 2024, she successfully completed her Master of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Kenyatta University, further sharpening her strategic and managerial outlook.
Through this mentorship, she has adopted a service-first mindset, learning that technical skills are most effective when guided by integrity and a commitment to helping others. Having worked as a youth leader in King Jesus Faith Church โ Bungoma, mentorship has taught her to lead with empathy and purpose, ensuring that her work in mentorship, IT and data always contributes to the greater good of the community and the world.
Looking to the future, she aspires to grow into senior leadership within IT, data systems management and mentorship particularly in international development, climate change or health-related sectors. A major turning point in her career has been being involved in mentorship through Missions of Hope International (MOHI) and her professional engagement with Dr. Weche. These experiences have deeply shaped how she leads and work.
