APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IN FILM AND VIDEO PRODUCTION
Cinematic Solutions, a film and video production company is proud to announce the formation of an apprenticeship program for persons aspiring to work in the film and video production fields. We are looking for apprentices who are willing to learn what it takes to do high quality production work. Only four apprentices will be enrolled during one calendar year.
With our highly qualified and creative production team we are able to work on Documentaries, commercials, features, corporate videos and TV shows, an example is Churchill live, which is one of the most popular and most watched TV show in our country. We have also worked on a number of films, "The Rugged Priest", "Malooned", just to mention but a few, which have won numerous awards and received international recognition.
Getting experience directly from the work place is a great way to build confidence which is very important for career growth. Apprenticeship offers a great way to learn while you gain work experience, exposing you to the work environment where you can put your knowledge and skills into practice.

What is offered in the program
The Film and video Apprenticeship provides the "on-the-job" learning and training experience, where you learn while on location the whole process of film and video production. This is coupled with instructions from some of our professionals in this industry. The Film Apprenticeship at Cinematic Solutions will finally result in a successful career in the film and video production industry. You will have the opportunity to experience the film-making process from the conceptualization of the idea to the final master copy, in every perspective; Scriptwriting, Directing, Lighting Design, Sound design, On-location film-style shooting, Multi-camera studio production, single camera shoots, Audio Recording, Mixing and Mastering Graphic Design among others.

What are the requirements of an Apprentice / Qualifications
The most important requirements are that: You must not be taking part in full-time Education but if you are, you must get permission from your institution. You must be aged 18 and over, and you should at least have a college certificate.
Country
The apprenticeship program will take place in Nairobi, Kenya but you may be needed to travel outside Nairobi in case of a work related assignment; all expenses will be taken care of.
Responsibilities
Keenness, devotion, enthusiasm and positive attitude towards work show one’s thirst and seriousness for gearing up their career.
The apprentice possess a temporary position in the company and they have to concentrate on the training program to gain quality experience, Perform the basic tasks assigned to them and try to learn new things and enjoy themselves.
How long does it take?
The programme takes 4- 6 month depending on the agreement. But the minimum stay should be 4 months. At the end of your stay and successful completion of the program, you will receive a final evaluation form and apprenticeship report, a recommendation letter to help you while applying for jobs and a certificate stating that you have completed your apprenticeship.
Work Schedule for the apprentice and how long it takes.
Full time:
The apprentice will work from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to work for longer hours, probably 12- 14 hours a day, depending on the work load, number of projects and the deadlines that are supposed to be met.
Part time:
Saturdays, 9am – 1pm, with option to extend to 4pm as schedules require
Is there an upper age limit for Apprenticeships?
There is no upper age limit but you must be 18 years old. Both Male and Female applicants are welcome.
What's involved in the selection process?
The selection process is just like any other job application process. Qualified individuals can be put through a simple and exciting interview just to establish if they are fit for the role.
What time of year can I start?
This depends with what time of the year you are flexible, available and willing to begin. It also depends on the availability of the position at the Organization. Apply with us informing us when you can begin and if you need anything we are more than willing to help where we can.
Current start date is 8th September 2012 for Part Time training.
We, however, we prefer a cycle of August to January, February to August.
What costs should I expect?
Once you apply and you are accepted in the programme, all the necessary costs will be communicated to you.
What insurances should I take out for my stay?
We will need a proof of enrolment in a valid health and accident insurance plan, a medical certificate of good health and all the necessary immunization documents that one must have before travelling to a foreign country.

What documents should a complete application include?
A part form the basic documents needed, we will have a contract that is signed between the company and the apprentice. If you have a handycam, a personal lap top, preferably an Apple Mac even though a PC would still work, a film, documentary or a feature that you have worked on, please bring them along with you.
